WP1 Scientific Analysis
Objective of this first WP is related to the identification of the material assemblies and processing parameters needed as input for WP2. Results of the analysis are input also for WP3, concerning the value chain approach, and for WP4 for the definition of Design Tool structure.
WP2 Technology Development
The goal for this WP is the development of processing methods and treatments necessary to achieve the constituents of the innovative bio-derived composite materials, and for the production of the composite parts. Inputs are required from WP1. The results will give initial constituent and processing parameters required in WP3 for definition of market potential and in WP4 for the development of Design Tool.
WP3 Composites Networking
Objective of WP3 is the analysis of the production environment, finalized to the extraction of the most appropriate fields of application for the composites materials developed, and specific engineering potential. Inputs are required from WP1 and WP2. Results are required to WP5, enabling to direct the production and design of components.
WP4 Modelling and Design Tool
WP 4 is finalized to support the design of the material, from the early beginning of the Projecvt, to define the structure of the composite materials, and to implement the innovative materials into parts, constituting the demonstrators for the application of the wood derived composites in the different fields selected, for the advanced part of the Project. The Design Tool is developed based on the results of WP2 and WP3. Outcome is applied in WP5 for manufacturing the composites.
WP5 Composites Manufacturing and Prototyping
Objective of WP5 is the development and production of different prototypes, proving at lab scale the feasibility of the targeted materials and the application perspectives. Inputs are required from WP2, WP3 and WP4 concerning the technologies to be applied, the reference markets and design tool application. Outcome is directed to WP7 and WP8, concerning testing and demonstration.
WP6 Research Integration
Objective of this WP is to coordinate the efforts of research and application, enabling the results to be achieved in the different fields of application. Bidirectional relationships are required between WP6 and the other RTD workpackages from WP1 to WP7, ensuring check of the flow of materials, information and knowledge for the achievement of the Scientific / Technological objectives.
WP7 Industrial Testing
Objective of WP7 is testing the prototypes and providing industrial scale to the technical results of the Project. Input materials and samples for testing are required from WP5. Results are available to demonstration and dissemination activities, WP8 and WP9.
WP8 Demonstration
WP8 activities concern validation and demonstration of the potentialities of WOODY composite materials through analysis of the results of testing in WP7, and evaluation of customers and producers reaction to the innovativeness content, cost-efficiency and eco-sustainability in different fields of application. Inputs are received from WP 5 and WP7, concerning prototypes to be used, and testing results.
WP9 Training and Dissemination
The activities of WP9 are focussed on development of courses structure and contents, to be used in workshops and training courses; events organization and public release. Inputs are received from Prototyping, Testing, and demonstration activities, WP5, 7 and 8. Benefits of the courses are for all the RTD workpackages.
WP10 IPR Management
Activities of this WP are the development of efficient management tools, finalized to management and distribution of the knowledge to maximize the return on research investment. Basic inputs – outputs of this WP are managed with WP6, thanks to the common vision achieved within the integration activities on the progress of the whole research.
WP11 Consortium Management
Consortium Management activities have the goal to ensure efficient management and communication within the Consortium at both the Administrative and Technical level.
